Existence of pozzolan in this kind of cement causes reduction in the amount of hydration heat and increase in durability of cement in corrosive environments, particularly against sulfates and sometimes chlorine. Since Pozzolanic cement of Abyek is produced using less than 8% of C3A, increasing in durability of cement and concrete and reduction in hydration heat is considerable. Other advantages of Pozzolanic Portland Cement in compare with ordinary Portland cement are: Lighter concrete, bearing higher temperatures, plasticity, less permeability and more insulating property.
